RI Article

Definately kind of funny.... though to the non-letterboxer we
probably look really strange. Then again, we usually look strange
to non-letterboxers! I met a guy at the Celestial Motion series in
Groton the other day, he was just walking his dog. Looked at the
clues in my hand and compass around my neck and goes... "You looking
for them letterbox thingies too??". I laughed and said "Yep!".
Wrote down the website for him though and he was interested. Said he
had found 2 of the 3 on his own with no clues, but I think the dog
sniffed her way to them Molly-style.

Anyways, enough rambling and off to bed. Planting 2 more boxes over
near Gray Rock tomorrow. Clues to follow in the next few days.
Probably will be listed as Gray Rock Extras, boxes are Canvasback
and Campfire.

HI!!! Hello everyone! I just started letterboxing thanks to that
article, and I'm hooked. It's so interesting, sneeky, gets you out
hiking, thinking. It's Great! I've only gotten one so far, and the
one I'm working on now has really got me stumped. Maybe it's because
I'm a newbie. Anywho, I'm stuck on the Johnston RI Case of the
Missing Mascot. I've found the spot where it definetely should be.
Does anyone know if it's missing? I'm stuck... Also, are there any RI
or Mass get togethers for letterboxers?

The box was there on Thursday evening. Make sure you go into the forest and stay on the main trail until you come to the second pond, and be sure to go West. You will eventually find the break in the stone wall where the little dog ran after Inky. Follow the next step carefully. I went with my daughter and a lad from Ireland who had never heard of 'boxing. We had a few discussions along the way as to which way we should go, so I'd have to say that to the unseasoned seeker it could have been hard to find. Good luck! Wear some bug repellent if you don't like bugs.

I was out there this afternoon & the box was fine. Some boyscouts
were out working on the trail today. Unfortunately they spray
painted grafetti on the rocks by the box. The box is well hidden.
They were right by the box and didn't see it.

What kind of merit badge do you get for graffiti?

I was kind of wondering the same thing myself... This is "today's
boyscouts"?! Maybe they were a chain gang? Did they have chains or just
those little yellow hanky thingies? BeMa

Rustypuff and I will be manning a letterboxing table at Moose Hill
Wildlife Sanctuary in Sharon, MA, next Sunday (May 18). Everyone is
invited to come by to exchange or to hunt for any of several boxes on
the property.
